Every Anima Sauna offers a high standard of design and engineering, combining aesthetic appeal with functional performance. Our construction approach aligns with our home-building philosophy: meticulous attention to detail, sustainable practices, and consistent quality.

Our Anima Saunas feature solid wood and timber frame construction, with high-performing, natural, and breathable insulations and membranes for longevity and thermal efficiency. Crafted from sustainably-sourced timbers, every component, from heat-retaining walls to smooth benches, is precisely made. Our Sauna comfortably seats 4 and allows 2 to lie down across two tiers. This design offers a greater thermal range: the top tier for higher temperatures, the bottom for a slightly cooler experience. Both benches offer views through a large feature window, connecting the interior with its site. Our design principles ensure optimal heat distribution, energy efficiency, and a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. An eave protection on the roof protects cladding and electrical materials from the elements and allows for towels and seating undercover.
Versatile finishes allow for customisation, making your Anima Sauna a distinctive extension of your home and your commitment to well-being. Enquire about our wax emulsion finishes to achieve an exterior colour of your choice, including a monochromatic, blackened appearance.

Choosing your thermal sanctuary is key to your well-being goals. Anima Homes offers various Sauna types, each providing a distinct health practice tailored to your preferences.

Your personal wellness aspirations guide your choice. Whether it is the invigorating heat of a Finnish sauna, the gentle warmth of an infrared sauna, or a combination of the two, each Anima Homes option supports your personal well-being - encouraging a regular, restorative heat practice.
Traditional Finnish Saunas: The Classic Heat Ritual Traditional Finnish saunas feature high temperatures (160-200°F / 70-95°C) and low humidity. A stove heats rocks, allowing for customizable steam bursts (löyly). This intense, dry heat promotes vigorous sweating, deep detoxification, muscle relaxation, and cardiovascular conditioning. The process of adding water enhances the thermal experience.
Infrared Saunas: Gentle Warmth, Deep Penetration Infrared saunas use infrared heaters to warm the body directly, not the air, resulting in lower ambient temperatures (120-150°F / 49-65°C). Infrared waves penetrate deeply, inducing profound sweat at a cellular level. This is effective for pain relief, muscle recovery, improved circulation, skin purification, and collagen production.

Our interior finishes are carefully selected to withstand the heat of the sauna. We use natural materials that are both tactile and durable, often improving in character over time. Specific timbers can be requested to suit your preferred aroma and sensory experience.

Spruce or thermally-treated pine to walls and ceilings.

Basswood or thermally-treated pine benches, backrests and supports.

Waterproofing with 1200mm x 600mm granite natural-stone tiles to floors and walls behind stoves.

Adjustable, internal vent covers with spruce caps.

Atmospheric and warm-white lighting below benches and above backrest.
